LCES March 2025 Newsletter/Boletín de marzo de LCES

March brings the promise of Spring and the beginning of a busy time for us at LCES. We are excited for warmer weather and the opportunity to experience hands-on learning outside as many of our grade levels will study topics such as pollination, plants, birds, and water. Just as we see plants/flowers bloom and grow in the spring, we often see great academic growth in our students. We encourage families to continue to motivate students to work hard and to read each day as we begin to work toward our final assessments of the year. Dr. Lewis

Marzo trae la promesa de la primavera y el comienzo de una época muy ocupada para nosotros en LCES. Estamos entusiasmados por el clima más cálido y la oportunidad de experimentar el aprendizaje práctico al aire libre, ya que muchos de nuestros niveles de grado estudiarán temas como polinización, plantas, aves y agua. Así como vemos plantas y flores florecer y crecer en la primavera, a menudo vemos un gran crecimiento académico en nuestros estudiantes. Read Across America – We will celebrate Read Across America the week of March 3rd-7th in our classrooms and the media center! On Friday, March 7th, we will have community members visiting classrooms to be guest readers, followed by a read-in to finish off our Read-A-Thon!

Read Across America: ¡Celebraremos Read Across America la semana del 3 al 7 de marzo en nuestras aulas y en el centro de medios! El viernes 7 de marzo, tendremos miembros de la comunidad visitando las aulas para ser lectores invitados, seguido de una lectura para finalizar nuestro Read-A-Thon.

- Kindergarten Round-Up/Pre-K Application will be held Friday, April 4th from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Lenoir City Elementary School.

- Kindergarten Registration is for children who are five years of age on or before August 15, 2025 and who are eligible for enrollment in Lenoir City Schools. Parents should bring the following: Child to be registered, proof of residency, official birth certificate (not mother’s copy), and original shot/physical record with physician’s signature. 

- Pre - K Application is for children who are four years of age on or before August 15, 2025 and who are eligible for enrollment in Lenoir City Schools. Parents, please bring the following: Child to be registered, proof of residency, official birth certificate (not mother’s copy), proof of employment/income, and original shot/physical record with physician’s signature.

- NO KINDERGARTEN CLASSES WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY, APRIL 4. 

- All activities will be held in conjunction with Child Find. CHILD FIND offers free screenings for young children upon request. Screenings may include developmental, speech, and hearing. This event is sponsored by the Pilot Club of Lenoir City and Kiwanis Club of Tellico Village. 

- La presentación de solicitudes para Kindergarten/Pre-K se llevará a cabo el viernes 4 de abril de 9:00 a. m. a 3:00 p. m. en la escuela primaria de la ciudad de Lenoir.

- La inscripción al jardín de infantes es para niños que tienen cinco años de edad el 15 de agosto de 2025 o antes y que son elegibles para inscribirse en las escuelas de la ciudad de Lenoir. Los padres deben traer lo siguiente: niño a registrar, comprobante de residencia, certificado de nacimiento oficial (no copia de la madre) y registro físico/de vacunas original con firma del médico.

We want to congratulate the following teachers for being honored by their peers and recognized as great teachers! Teacher of the Year is Stephanie Livengood, and the new Teacher of the Year is Madison Stephens.
